<reviewbody>Although this is supposedly a classic singer, the singing here is nothing short of awful, the last couple of notes are ear-cringing.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>This is atrocious. Adelina Patti had a beautiful voice and you should listen to her on the commercially available CDs (compilation CDs of great singers). She participated in some of the earliest recording sessions and her reputation will suffer from the releasing here of these primitive recordings.

Remove it, please!</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Recorded for posterity in her ageing years with the best technology available in 1905. An absolutely wonderfull treasure, I wish I had been there.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>This recording does not reveal why Giuseppe Verdi called her the "greatest singer he ever heard", it's sad to hear this great voice so mangled.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Oh no, not spuzz again. Attacks on music you don't like are valueless - no-one will be impressed. Most of Patti's original 78s are in terrible condition, so it wasn't a very good idea to post it. Also Patti had made her debut at sixteen - she hadn't even finished growing. My own view is that at 63 the strain of doing this was showing. Since Verdi, Puccini and Bernard Shaw all said she was the finest of all, we have to realise we're not hearing what they heard. Nevertheless, her version of "Ah, non credea" is unmatched by anyone, except the much younger Galli-Curci, and the sensuality of her voice still comes out in most of her recordings - when they can be heard. 5 stars for Patti, one for the sound.</reviewbody>
